A bit about raft-up fundamentals

Contact the ASPS on VHF channel 68, Come along side your desired tie-up and request assistance to secure your vessel. SLOW and EASY. Have your fenders rigged and lines attached to your cleats, the bitter end to be thrown to the adjacent boat. The BIGGER boats on the inside, smaller boats may need to drop off and resecure to allow for the BIGGER anchor boats towards the center. Be prepared to set an anchor, about every 3rd boat should have one down. Depending on conditions the end tie boats my need to set an anchor to prevent the flotilla from swinging. When breaking away from the raft-up please notify your adjacent boats so that they may take adequate precautions to have lines rigged amongst themselves.
